Built with community in mind

Our work takes place in regions where people live, work, and raise families. That includes Indigenous communities with longstanding connections to the land.

This context matters, which is why we engage early to understand local priorities and look for ways our projects can create value for generations. It shows up in how we engage, who we partner with, and how we connect with communities around our facilities.

Through local hiring, long-term partnerships, and creating opportunities for community support, we aim to deliver lasting value beyond our gates.

CSV Community

What community means to us

Community starts where our work does. For CSV, it means the people and places connected to our operations and the relationships that make our work possible.

It includes the everyday moments that build trust, like spending time together, sharing a table, and looking out for one another. Those small interactions shape how we work in the field and how we show up across the region.

It’s the relationships that extend beyond a project’s boundaries, through local hiring, shared infrastructure, and ongoing dialogue that ensure our work creates lasting value where it happens.

To us, community is a group of partners we build with, learn from, and stand beside.

Delivering Shared Value

Strong communities are built through genuine connection and collaboration. Over the holiday season, our team took to the road to visit community members near our Albright facility in the Grande Prairie region to spread holiday cheer and share in thoughtful conversation. Engaging with people is a critical part of how we create shared value. By listening and working together, we can ensure our efforts align with the needs and priorities of the communities where we operate.

Creating Shared Value

Energy projects reshape the regions they move through. They influence land use, local economies, infrastructure, and opportunity over the long term. Creating Shared Value is how we build with that reality in mind.

In the energy sector, this means planning infrastructure with community priorities in mind from the start, and carrying them through design, construction, and long-term operations.

The Creating Shared Value Fund

A portion of revenue from our Albright facility is set aside each year to support community projects across the County of Grande Prairie. The funding is allocated through the Creating Shared Value Fund, which is managed at arm’s length by a volunteer committee of local residents. They review proposals and decide where the money goes, based on what matters most in the region.

This fund reflects a core belief behind Creating Shared Value: that the benefits of development should reach beyond our gates.
