VP – Engineering & Operations

Chris Gossen

I bring 30 years of experience across Canada’s oil and gas industry, with a career rooted in upstream operations, facilities, and engineering leadership. I began my career in exploration and production, where I developed a strong operational foundation and a collaborative, values-based leadership style. Over time, I have led multidisciplinary teams in the evaluation, drilling, completion, operation, and optimization of assets across the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin, including the successful exploration and development of Montney liquids-rich gas, heavy oil, Upper Mannville developments, shallow gas, and light oil properties. This experience allows me to approach midstream operations with both technical depth and a clear understanding of what is important to E&P companies and how energy infrastructure can be built and run responsibly.

Joining CSV gave me the chance to return to what I love most: facilities, operations, and engineering, and to do it with a company that shares my values. Creating Shared Value means making deliberate decisions that benefit our clients, our employees, and the communities around us. At CSV, we talk a lot about doing things the right way, and for me, that is what makes this work meaningful.

CSV places a strong emphasis on mental health within our culture and operations, which is important to me on a personal level. I am proud to support organizations that promote inclusion and care, including being an active board member and current President of Ups and Downs, the Calgary Down Syndrome Association. I try to approach both work and life with optimism and presence, with a focus on mind-body connections, like yoga, mindfulness, and music, which all play meaningful roles in our homes. Spending time with family, staying active, and traveling when we can helps keep me grounded and open to new perspectives.
