Resthaven

As CSV’s first greenfield project, Resthaven is a gas processing facility that proved we could design and build infrastructure from the ground up.

CAPABILITIES

Where Resthaven fits in

Located northeast of Grande Cache, Resthaven marked CSV’s move from engineering into building a full midstream facility. Built as a dedicated gas processing plant, it continues to provide reliable service and stands as a foundation piece in CSV’s early growth. The facility includes front-end gas handling infrastructure that allows volumes to be managed efficiently within CSV’s asset network and directed to connected systems as required.

Resthaven’s design philosophy was highly modular. Equipment modules, piperack modules, and interconnecting piping were all prefabricated ahead of on-site construction. The goal was to install and connect these prebuilt modules with no pressure welding on site, minimizing construction time and improving quality control. CSV and its assembled team of contractors brought the project onstream efficiently, under budget, and ahead of schedule. Construction management coordinated logistics and sequencing to bring the plant safely to production.

The plant incorporates a repeatable modular design template that enables CSV to efficiently deliver gas processing solutions across a range of resource opportunities. Resthaven is supported by a long-term agreement with an intermediate producer. Tourmaline is the contract operator for this facility.

This approach demonstrated best in class execution, cost control, and schedule performance

Processes up to 260 million cubic feet per day of low-sulfur gas with more than 100 million cubic feet per day of processing capacity, linked to the TransCanada gas pipeline and future Pembina liquids system

Built with prefabricated components for faster completion

Consistently achieves >99% reliability

Total process compression capacity of 11,250 horsepower, supporting steady throughput and efficient gas movement across the facility

Mechanical refrigeration unit capable of -35°C, configured for -10°C dewpoint control producing a C5+ product

CSV Resthaven

Proof of concept for greenfield builds

Resthaven established CSV’s reputation for delivering projects independently. Its success gave customers and investors confidence in the company’s approach and set the stage for more complex facilities that followed.

Creating Shared Value

Resthaven has generated reliable revenue that supports CSV’s continued growth. This stability enables the company to invest in new projects and expand opportunities for producers in the Grande Prairie area.

CSV Resthaven

How Resthaven took shape

Engineering and design began in 2016, with construction starting the following year. CSV delivered the plant on budget and on schedule, bringing it onstream in 2018. The project came together through close coordination among the project team and contractors, and it has since operated with industry-leading reliability.
