Position Title: Plant Operator
Reports To: Plant Coordinator
Location: Karr Gas Plant
General Accountabilities:
The Plant Operator will be responsible for contributing to the successful operation of the CSV Karr Gas Plant, located approximately 80km South of Grande Prairie. The operator will work an 7 days on/7 days off cycle, alternating days and nights, consisting of 12-hour shifts.
Key Accountabilities:
The Plant Operator will be accountable for the following:
- perform routine operational equipment surveillance, equipment start-up’s and shutdowns
- perform process and equipment troubleshooting
- optimize processes for efficient operation
- manage trades/contractors during scheduled and unscheduled services and repairs
- operate the facility in a safe, economical and efficient manner
- perform housekeeping and maintenance activities
- manage facility production on a daily basis
- participate as a team member and provide mentorship to peers as required
- conduct all activities following Health, Safety, and Environmental policies
- uphold CSV’s values and place a focus on safety
- other duties as assigned
Education and Experience requirements:
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a 4th class steam ticket, preferably with experience working in a gas plant. A High School Diploma, a GED, or a combination of education and experience is preferred.
In addition, the successful candidate will have:
- excellent communication skills, have a positive attitude and the ability to work effectively in a diverse, team environment
- strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- the ability to adapt to the varying demands of the role
- excellent working knowledge of MS office
- experience with natural gas compression, refrigeration, Dehydration, Amine and condensate stabilization
- familiarity with all aspects of the operations and established procedures
- familiarity with work order programs and SCADA related programs
- a Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

The Plant Operator will be responsible for contributing to the successful operation of the CSV Valhalla Gas Plant, located approximately 85km northwest of Grande Prairie. The operator will work an 8 days on/6 days off cycle consisting of 10-hour workdays. The plant operator is also responsible for after-hours callouts during their shift rotation.

The Plant Operator will be accountable for the following:
- perform routine operational equipment surveillance, equipment start-up’s and shutdowns
- perform process and equipment troubleshooting
- optimize processes for efficient operation
- manage trades/contractors during scheduled and unscheduled services and repairs
- operate the facility in a safe, economical and efficient manner
- perform housekeeping and maintenance activities
- manage facility production on a daily basis
- participate as a team member and provide mentorship to peers as required
- conduct all activities following Health, Safety, and Environmental policies

- other duties as assigned
