Position Title: Gas Plant Operator
Reports To: Plant Coordinator
Location: Albright Gas Plant (near Grande Prairie, Alberta)
Note: There are multiple positions available

General Accountabilities:

Albright is located near the communities of Beaverlodge and Wembley. The Albright Gas Plant will serve the growing sour natural gas processing needs of multiple producers with Montney and Charlie Lake production in the region and will significantly enhance CSV’s existing platform of natural gas processing infrastructure in Alberta’s prolific Montney play. With natural gas processing capacity of 150 million cubic feet per day, Albright will also recover and conserve up to 370 tonnes of sulphur per day and will be the first greenfield gas plant with sulphur recovery to be constructed in Alberta in nearly 30 years. Completion is expected in late 2024.

The Gas Plant Operator will be responsible for contributing to the successful operation of the CSV Albright Gas Plant, situated near the communities of Beaverlodge and Wembley. The operator will work a 7 days on/7 days off cycle, alternating days and nights, consisting of 12-hour shifts. Please note that this is not a camp position. Must be willing to relocate to Grande Prairie if not already living in the area.

Key Accountabilities:

The Gas Plant Operator will be accountable for the following:

• perform routine operational equipment surveillance, equipment start-up’s and shutdowns
• perform process and equipment troubleshooting
• optimize processes for efficient operation
• manage trades/contractors during scheduled and unscheduled services and repairs
• operate the facility in a safe, economical and efficient manner
• perform housekeeping and maintenance activities
• manage facility production on a daily basis
• participate as a team member and provide mentorship to peers as required
• conduct all activities following Health, Safety, and Environmental policies
• uphold CSV’s values and place a focus on safety
• other duties as assigned

Education and Experience requirements:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a 4^th class steam ticket and a minimum of 4 years’ experience working in a gas plant. A High School Diploma, a GED, or a combination of education and experience is preferred.

In addition, the successful candidate will have:

• excellent communication skills, have a positive attitude and the ability to work effectively in a diverse, team environment
• strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• the ability to adapt to the varying demands of the role
• excellent working knowledge of MS office
• experience with natural gas compression, refrigeration, Dehydration, Amine and condensate stabilization, as well as acid gas injection (required)
• familiarity with all aspects of the operations and established procedures
• familiarity with work order programs and SCADA related programs
• a Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

Position Title: Shift Lead Operator
Reports To: Plant Coordinator
Location: Karr Gas Plant (near Grande Prairie, Alberta)

General Accountabilities:

The Gas Plant Shift Lead works under general direction from the Lead Gas Plant Operator and/or the Plant Coordinator and has the knowledge, experience and required skills to operate all plant equipment and processes safely and effectively at the Karr Gas Plant. The Gas Plant Shift Lead will monitor and review plant processes, operate equipment and recognize potential plant operational problems. The incumbent will take preventive and/or remedial actions to ensure production and safety goals are met in accordance with CSV’s standards.

The CSV Karr Gas Plant is a 3rd class facility located approximately 70km South of Grande Prairie. The shift lead will work a 7-day on/7 days off cycle, alternating days and nights, consisting of 12-hour shifts. The Karr gas plant is off-grid and powered by two Siemens Natural Gas turbines. Sour gas is processed using Amine trains, refrigeration and dehydration units. Please note that this is not a camp position. Must be willing to relocate to Grande Prairie if not already living in the area.

Key Accountabilities:

The Shift Lead Operator will be accountable for the following:

• Is fully competent as a Gas Plant Shift Lead in the startup, shut down and operation of the gas plant facility. Closely monitor plant levels, pressures, temperatures, and flows, relaying any deviations as required.
• Understands control room functions and activities including monitoring field and gas plant processes through communication and on-site surveillance. Make appropriate decisions to adjust levels, pressures, temperatures and flows as needed, including starting up or shutting down equipment to maintain operating efficiencies and production nominations.
• Maintains ongoing production logs to ensure key communications between operating shifts.
• Maintains awareness of shutdown schedules with maintenance and contractors to minimize production loss and maximize process efficiency.
• Coordinates process adjustments and changes with senior operating staff, to establish design parameters and set criteria for good operating practice.
• Understands and troubleshoots process upsets, taking corrective action as needed.
• Makes accurate judgements on starting and stopping rotating equipment to maintain overall production efficiency when placing them online or off-line.
• Understands and maintains all design limit control devices in an operational and functional manner.
• Takes immediate corrective action in any process deviation to maintain facility integrity and efficiency.
• Assists with the preparation of overhauls and routine maintenance projects as needed.
• Performs water / lab testing.
• Can recognize and safely remove hydrates.
• Performs routine surveillance on plant operations in a timely fashion.
• Accurately traces process flows according to facility drawings.
• Accurately records and relates process deviations according to log sheet readings.
• Conducts all activities following Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
• Uphold CSV’s values and place a focus on safety.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Title: Communications Lead
Reports To: Director, Creating Shared Value
Location: Calgary, AB

General Accountabilities:

The Communications Lead will drive the CSV communications strategy while supporting a variety of internal stakeholders to execute on both internal and external communications of the organization. This role will own the CSV brand, ensure consistency across the organization, will play a pivotal role in enhancing our employer brand, managing our social media presence, and crafting compelling stories that resonate with both internal and external audiences. This individual will be responsible for creating, curating, and distributing content that effectively communicates our company’s values, culture, and achievements.

In a growing organization like CSV Midstream, the successful candidate is someone who can work both independently and collaboratively; easily shifting back and forth from big picture thinking to rolling up their sleeves and ‘doing the work’.

Key Accountabilities:

Communications Strategy

• Assist the organization in developing a comprehensive communications strategy which amplifies messaging for the ‘Creating Shared Value’ story and elevates key messages.
• Create and maintain a communications calendar to plan and schedule communications activities through the year, including themes and topics that are important to our company and community, and keeping track of date for conferences, trade shows, and industry events.

Storytelling

• Identify and develop compelling stories that showcase our company’s impact, innovations, and culture.
• Create content for various formats including articles, blog posts, videos, infographics, and podcasts.
• Collaborate with employees, customers, and partners to gather and share their stories.
• Develop and solidify the CSV ‘voice’.

To execute on the strategy and effectively tell the CSV story, the Communications Lead will have had hands-on experience in most of the following areas: social media management, internal communications, external communications, corporate branding, promotional material ideation, employer branding, sustainability report writing, website management and design, media relations, photography / videography, graphic design, community engagement and event planning. The Communications Lead will have internal and external resources available to them to support the tactical elements of all these areas.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Strong aptitude and experience in communications, branding and social media management.
• Have exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Be a grammar perfectionist and linguistic precisionist when it comes to crafting CSV’s written voice and telling the CSV story.
• Use creativity and innovation to approach projects and solve problems.
• Be both accountable and collaborative with the ability to think strategically and execute operationally at the same time.
• Be resourceful and cost effective but also be able to tap into a strong network of creative specialities and specialists as needed.
• Be highly organized and keep the team organized to meet deadlines.

The following skills would be considered advantageous but are not required:

• Have proficiency in managing social media platforms and be able to implement new tools and content management systems.
• Have some basic graphic design skills and some proficiency in design programs (can be self-taught, no formal certifications required).
• Have some familiarity with analytics tools to track and report on campaign performance.
• Have the ability to create multimedia content (e.g., videos, posters, podcasts).
• Have some experience with employer branding and employee engagement initiatives.

Please note that this role will require occasional travel to our operations in Grande Prairie, Alberta. The timing of travel will typically be timed around community events and company engagements, and requires some flexibility.
